The Austrian Ivica Vastic, who scored a goal against Poland during Euro 2008 (1:1) is the oldest player to score a goal during the European championships. On the day of the match he was 38 years and 257 days old. The previous record holder was Portugal's Nene, who put himself on the scorers' list in 1984 at the age of 34 years and 213 days. The oldest player to score at the World Cup is Cameroon's Roger Milla - he was 42 years and 39 days old during the World Cup Finals in 1994.

Olympic Stadium in Kiev

Olympic Stadium in Kiev was built in 1923, and re-built in 1941, 1966, 1978 and 1999. In 2012 the finals of the European Football Championship will be held there, preceded by group and quarterfinal matches. In relation to the Championship, the arena will undergo further modernisation, among other things a modern roof will be erected. The refurbishment of the facility is scheduled for the turn of 2010 and 2011.
