On 15 December the first meeting of the EURO 2012 Security Committee, which was focused on ensuring border safety during the Tournament, was held after the group draw for the Final Tournament

przejscie_graniczne During the meeting a presentation was made on information on the Border Guards' and Customs Officers' preparation for the Championship. Recently, Polish and Ukrainian border guards' exercises in the form of joint passport and customs control on the Polish side of the border were held at the border crossings in Dorohusk, Hrebenne, Korczowa and Medyka. Those were actions comprising the "Friendly border" program.

Additionally, a presentation was made of the concept and plans related to the restoration of border control at internal borders of the European Union, if such decision is taken by the Ministry of the Interior as a result of a dynamic analysis of risk before and during the Tournament.

Another topic discussed during the meeting was the organisation of Poland's operational readiness for the Championship. The most important element in this respect was information on the establishment of the Team for Integration and Operational Readiness, a draft Integrated Tournament Organisation Plan containing key organisational processes, structures of tournament organisation management, guidelines to developing operational plans in order to achieve integrated operational readiness of all involved institutions and organisations by 15 May 2012.

Additionally, a presentation was made of the concept to assure safety and order at public places where matches will be broadcast during UEFA EURO 2012™ (official fan zones and public places where matches will be broadcast) against the background of the current preparations of the Host Cities as well as preparations by other cities and commercial entities to organise public and private fan zones.
