The Minister of Sport guaranteed that no expenses related to the preparations for EURO 2012 or the Orlik program will be cut down.
"Regarding Euro 2012 all the investments that are extremely important and require strict discipline when it comes to schedules and finances, have the funds guaranteed", Drzewiecki said on Thursday on Polsat News. "The above applies to the preparations for Euro and Orlik 2012 program - even PLN 1 will not be cut down", the Minister assured. Jacek Rostowski, Minister of Finance, talked about looking for the possibilities of savings in individual departments on Thursday. He said that in relation to the amended budget plan for the second half of 2009 the government expects additional savings in the ministries totaling PLN 3bn. Rostowski is going to discuss that with the individual heads of the departments. Drzewiecki declared that his department will manage to save several dozens of millions of zloties; he referred to the savings generated thanks to tender procedures as an example. "Currently, thanks to the tenders we are able to generate savings ranging from 25% to 40% of the budget plan", he said. "If my budget plan is to be cut down by, let's say, 10% and the savings generated by the investment total 30%, then, as a matter of fact, I am going to continue to do what I planned, only I am going to spend less", he argued.
