EURO 2012 Committee Working Meeting

On Friday, 10 February 2012, the Olympic Centre hosted a working meeting of members of the Coordination Committee for the Finals of the UEFA European Football Championship UEFA EURO 2012

Komitet_1 The Committee's task will be to coordinate activities the objective of which is for Poland to reach the operational readiness to carry out the European Football Championship UEFA EURO 2012 and to guarantee synergy in the key organisation areas: security, transport, and services for Tournament guests.

During the working meeting of the members of the Coordination Committee for the Finals of the UEFA European Football Championship UEFA EURO 2012, such elements as detailed tasks, proceeding principles, and the schedule of Committee's works were presented. The procedures related to the ways of communicating the Committee's works are also to be adopted.

The Committee shall also adopt a decision on the formation of the National Organisation Headquarters which on the Committee's behalf will realise all activities related to the reaching of the operational readiness and to the Tournament management in the scope appropriate for public administration bodies.

Presently, one of the Committee's most important tasks is the approval of the Integrated Organisation and Management Plan for activities of all public administration institutions directly involved in provision of Tournament services (CONOPS – Concept of Operations). The National Operational Headquarters shall be responsible for the implementation of the plan. The Headquarters' first session is planned for the next week. Also next week, a press conference will be held during which all detailed information regarding operations of the Committee and of the Headquarters shall be communicated. Information on the date of the conference shall be presented in the nearest future.

In keeping with the adopted schedule, 15 May 2012 is the planned date of reaching the operational readiness. At a later date, but still prior to the inauguration of Euro 2012, integrated management tests in all the organisation areas with impact on the quality of the Tournament, i.e. security, transport, and a service for fans are planned to be conducted.
