'Each of the 80 (Pomerania) and 100 (Greater Poland) participants of the "Get Involved –Volunteer Programme!" in the frames of their individual work with employment consultants will obtain an Individual Action Plan,' says Monika Chabior, the PL.2012's National Social Responsibility Projects Coordinator, 'Participants of our projects will be trained in, among others, customer service, English, German, leisure animation, they will become familiar with the specificity of work of employees of information and law enforcement services.'The participants of the "Get Involved – Volunteer Programme" will also obtain qualifications in the scope of mass events, medical emergencies, tourist traffic services, they will also have an opportunity to obtain a driving licence. Due to the training programme, project participants, unemployed today, will acquire valuable competences required to find employment in the sporting and cultural events organisation. They will also acquire practical knowledge related to participation in a recruitment process (including CV and Covering Letter composition, participation in a job interview). Upon completion of training, participants will receive offers of voluntary work in sport organisations, partners of the project, to be next accepted for 3-month-long paid work placements. The project will continue until September 2012.
According to the world standards, volunteer activities constitute an effective and widespread tool for professional activation. 'There probably is no need to convince anyone about the importance of volunteer involvement,' says Michał Guć, Deputy Mayor of Gdynia, 'Each day, thousands of volunteers devote their time to become involved in selfless help and work for others. On the examples of the launched projects, we very clearly see that volunteer activities yield measurable benefits not only to beneficiaries of volunteers' work, but also to volunteers themselves. Thanks to the involvement in the project, many people non-active professionally so far, without experience, and people over 50 years of age who find it difficult to navigate the labour market, will be presented with an opportunity to gain experience and raise qualifications. Professional experience acquired in the course of volunteer activities will surely have a positive impact on personal and professional development of all project participants.
