Without any great ceremonies, feasts or expensive events - the railway stations opened after modernisation to service passengers right after the completion of all the inspection procedures and the issuance of use permits. The symbolic exception was opening of the railway station in Malbork, one of the most beautiful stations in Europe. Meetings with city residents were organised to honour the simultaneous completion of the investments at 19 other railway stations in Poland

At the end of December and beginning of January the following railway stations were completed: Terespol (on the railway line E-20 from Warsaw to Moscow), Brzeg, Bochnia, Przemyśl (line E-30 providing for a railway connection between Wrocław and Lviv), Leszno (line E-59 from Poznań to Wrocław), Działdowo, Iława, Malbork, Modlin (line E-65 from Gdańsk to Warsaw) and in Wałbrzych, Ostrów, Przeworsk, Brzesk, Łańcut, Radziwiłłów, Elbląg, Sławno and two in Warsaw  — Central and Stadium.

The last two railway stations are of key importance in the context of UEFA EURO 2012™. When the railway line with the Chopin Airport and the rail stop Warsaw Stadium are completed, there will be complete transportation between the stadium and the Fan Zone with railway lines and the airport.

Two railway stations in the east of Poland are of major importance – in Terespol and Przemyśl as they will service passenger traffic from Russia and Ukraine.
