According to Wrocław 2012 Press Officer Ms. Magdalena Malara talking to PAP (Polish Press Agency), the company has secured the site in order to be able to complete the stocktaking started on the previous day. These works must be completed before the site can be handed over to the new contractor.
"Security guards arrived at the site. Their duties include writing down details of all vehicles entering or leaving the site", she added. Michał Janicki, Director of the Social Affairs Department at the Municipal Office said previously that the stocktaking procedure could be completed by the end of the following week. „We are talking to Mostostal about how to accelerate these works. We have some problems with the stocktaking because of the weather but as soon as the procedure is completed, the removal of the equipment should start. The Consortium has 30 days to do it", highlighted Janicki. On 30 December 2009, the City of Wrocław terminated the agreement with the now former contractor, a Polish-Greek consortium led by Mostostal Warszawa S.A. According to Mayor Rafał Dutkiewicz, the reasons of the termination included delays in the schedule of works and concerns that the consortium would not be able to complete the project on time. According to the city authorities, examples of severe delays in the construction works include the status of HVAC infrastructure and telecommunication ducting deployment. The works are delayed by up to 90 days against the schedule. Currently the city negotiates with Max Boegl, a company that previously bided for the construction of the stadium in Wrocław but their bid was rejected. The company has built six stadiums as a single contractor (including the stadium in Frankfurt am Main) and has been a co-contractor in more that 10 stadium projects. The first preparatory works at the site of the future stadium in Wrocław began in September 2009. The contract for the construction of the stadium was signed with a consortium led by Mostostal Warszawa S.A. in April 2009. Soon afterwards, the works began. The cornerstone was laid in June.
