Construction of the National Stadium is going full speed ahead. The progress of works can be now watched online thanks to a webcam!
The camera has been installed on a street lamp near the seat of the National Sports Centre. The image is being refreshed every minute. In the future, also past images would be available to watch. All images will be stored so as to create short films presenting, in fast forward mode, the construction of the national stadium. What can you currently see on our website? The 10th Anniversary Stadium of old is no more. No more tribunes, even the grandstand, no more pitch or entrance gates. At present, pits are being dug, concrete is being crushed, rubble is being removed and several thousand poles are being hammered so as to stabilise the pitch and strengthen the facility's supporting structure. The first stage of construction works is to end by 13 April 2009. Krakow was the first city from among the candidates for UEFA EURO 2012 Host-Cities who installed the webcam at the stadium. A few weeks after the webcam was launched in Warsaw, another one on the City Stadium construction site in Wroclaw was launched. Soon we will be able to watch online the works on stadia in Gdansk, Poznan and Chorzow. |
