gdansk_stadion_lnd_thumb_lnd_thumbEarly next year, the issue of selling the name of the stadium now under construction in Gdansk will be settled. At present, the stadium is known as the Stadium in Letnica. At the same time, the operator will be selected for this facility that is being built for the 2012 European football championship.
At present, talks are being held with several entities interested in buying the right to the name. The right is expected to cost a few million zlotys and the contract is planned for five years – informed the Vice President of BIEG2012 – Euro 2012 Investments Agency of Gdansk, Adam Kalata

"Apart from the title sponsor for the stadium, we are also looking for a technology partner and for official providers of various goods and services" – added Kalata, who presented the concept for the planned commercialization of the stadium grounds at the two day Presss Euro conference held in Gdansk. Consequently, a part of the money invested in the construction is expected to return to the investor.

"VIP lounges, of which there will be 40 in our facility, should be a special treat. For many companies, having such an enclave within the stadium is a major point of business strategy and a thing that gives them more prestige. Based on the research we conducted, we know that 71 percent of business people invite to their lounges clients, 63 percent – business partners and cooperators, 47 percent – employees, and only 39 percent – friends and relatives" – emphasized Kalata.

A standard lounge is composed of a conference and leisure section and has an area of 30  square meters. Only some of them will be twice the size. An integral part of each lounge will be 10 seats with a view of the pitch.

1385 seats are to be found in a special VIP bleacher section connected to the Business Club, terrace and VIP restaurant that will be able host up to 500 people. "Ordinary" fans will have 24 snack kiosks at their disposal, to be located at the upper and lower promenade.

"Our proposal for a marketing use of the stadium doesn’t end here. We also plan a 24-hour two-floor Fun Pub for 200 people located at the northern bleacher section and a Fun Shop combined with a sports museum. There is also a commercial and service area of nearly 9 thousand square meters awaiting occupancy, which can house stores, fitness clubs and other similar services. After the Euro championship we also want to develop the plot adjacent to the stadium. It’s an ideal location for offices, stores, hotels. This is also the area where Gdańsk International Fair will be relocated" – said Kaleta.

A major highlight will be a 1715 m long professional roller skating track surrounding the stadium. It will be connected to the system of paths and promenades located in the coastal area and will lead from Brzeźno to Sopot.
