Tournament hosts are responsible for fans' and participants' safety, especially at stadia on match days and in Fan Zones set up in cities during the tournament.

The function of coordinator for safety issues depends on the harmonization of work among all national bodies (Polish FA, host city safety coordinators, Ministry of Interior and Administration, Ministry of Sport and Tourism) and international ones (UEFA, representatives of Ukraine and nations taking part in EURO 2012) responsible for safety during the tournament.

The coordinator is responsible for guaranteeing a safe and secure tournament as well as pleasant atmosphere and a feeling of safety for all its participants. In conjunction with the Ministry of Interior and Administration and representatives of Ukraine a "Safety Conception for EURO 2012" will be prepared by the coordinator.

At present, preparation for development of stewarding plans is in advanced stages. Stewarding will involve informing fans, volunteers, and embassies for those arriving to Poland for Euro 2012 where they will be able to receive assistance.
